Massachusetts General Election 2026: Meet the New Candidates

With the primary behind us, the field is set for the Massachusetts general election on November 3, 2026. Across the state, candidates are making their case for seats in the Massachusetts House and Senate, and many of their names may still be unfamiliar outside their districts.

To help voters and Beacon Hill watchers get acquainted with them, we’ve created a downloadable guide featuring profiles of 63 new candidates running in the 2026 general election.

Who could be new to Beacon Hill?

The candidates in this guide come from a wide range of backgrounds. Some already serve their communities on city councils, select boards or school committees. Others have worked in legislative offices, advocacy organizations, public safety, education, law, health care or small business. A few are familiar faces in Massachusetts politics now seeking a different seat.

Those experiences do not tell us everything about how a candidate would serve. They do, however, offer an important first look at the people who could help shape the next legislative session.

What is included in the candidate profiles?

Each profile brings together key information in one place, including:

  • Hometown and district

  • Education and occupation

  • Political experience

  • Community and organizational involvement

  • Endorsements

  • Campaign and financial-disclosure links

  • Related news coverage, when available

The guide is not intended to cover every incumbent running for reelection. Instead, it focuses on candidates who would be new to the Massachusetts Legislature, along with current or former officeholders running for new seats.

Meet the 63 candidates who could arrive on Beacon Hill – or take on a new role there – after the 2026 Massachusetts general election.

Candidate information is current as of the guide’s publication date and may change during the election cycle.
